Mental health promotion and literacy at school

Schools are an excellent setting for mental health promotion. This includes everyday wellness promotion, social emotional skill development and mental health literacy. Effective mental health promotion starts with welcoming, supportive environments and a sense of belonging for every student. Within this context, students can learn the habits and skills that will help them to manage academic pressures and other life challenges, nurture relationships and know how and where to seek help for mental health problems when needed.
