Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for School-Based Settings; 2-day training


A skills-based training designed to support SMHPs in applying the foundations of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy within the school setting.

CBT for Schools provides an introduction to, or a refresher on, the core principles and practical use of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) within school settings. This non-manualized approach emphasizes flexibility and the use of brief, skills-focused CBT strategies while using measurement-based care to monitor and reflect on student progress. This is a practice-based learning experience in which school mental health professionals will participate in discussions, role plays, and case-based exercises designed to connect CBT theory directly to school-based practice.

By the end of this session, participants will:

strengthen their understanding of core CBT principles and how these concepts translate into flexible, brief, skills‑focused interventions within school settingsapply CBT strategies through practice‑based learning, including discussions, role plays, and case‑based exercises that connect theory to real‑world school mental health practiceuse measurement‑based care to monitor student progress, reflect on outcomes, and adjust CBT strategies to support effective, responsive intervention planning
