Suicide Prevention and Life Promotion a National Guide For System Leaders
Webinar Series: Co-hosted with the Mental Health Commission of Canada and We Matter
This national guide offers practical, evidence-informed strategies to help you:
build and lead a comprehensive, system-wide approach to suicide prevention and life promotion,create safe, inclusive, and identity-affirming school environments,provide staff with the tools, training, and protocols they need to respond with confidence,engage students, families, Indigenous communities, and local mental health partners, andrespond with care and accountability to suicide-related crises.Each webinar session will review and unpack different chapters of the guide, followed by group discussion.
Sessions will be held monthly from October to March, at 12:00 pm – 12:45pm ET.

Oct. 31, 2025, 12 - 12:45 p.m. ET – School mental health and suicide prevention and conditions for effective suicide prevention and life promotion
Nov. 25, 2025, 12 - 12:45 p.m. ET – Coordinated programming across the tiers and capacity-building for effective suicide prevention and life promotion
Dec. 4, 2025, 12 - 12:45 p.m. ET – Indigenous youth suicide prevention and life promotion
Jan. 20, 2026, 12 - 12:45 p.m. ET – Supporting students who identify as 2S/LGBTQQIA+
Feb. 24, 2026, 12 - 12:45 p.m. ET – Collaboration for suicide prevention and life promotion & communicating progress related to suicide prevention and life promotion in school
Mar. 11, 2026, 12 – 12:45 p.m. ET – Indigenous youth voice & evaluation
Audience:
System leaders from across Canada: Directors, Associate directors, Superintendents, and Superintendents with responsibility for the mental health portfolio including Principals with district level responsibilities.
This webinar series has a registration limitation of 1000 participants.
Language:
This session will be delivered in English. Materials, breakout rooms, etc. will be available in French and English.
