Group Facilitation Skills in Schools: Part 1


Part 1 of Group Facilitation Skills in Schools – a 3-part series for regulated school mental health professionals & student support staff

School Mental Health Ontario is excited to present Part 2 of a 3-part webinar series on Group Facilitation Skills in Schools. Part 2 – Building Supportive Group Spaces will explore the following key concepts:

• Fostering supportive spaces

• Co-creating group agreements/community commitments

• Addressing harm when it occurs within a group setting

Participants will have an opportunity to engage in small-group discussions and role specific practical applications to explore the nuances and facilitation considerations when facilitating groups within a school setting.

Series dates:

Part 1 Foundations of Group Facilitation: October 30, 2025

Part 2 Building Supportive Group Spaces: November 12, 2025 (9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. EST)

Part 3 Navigating challenges in group facilitation: January 13, 2026

Audience:

Student support staff (CYC, chaplain, grad coach etc), School Mental Health Professionals (Occupational therapists, Psychological associates, Psychologists, Psychotherapists, Social workers)

This session is limited to 100 participants.

Language:

This session will be delivered in English. There will be a separate session delivered in French December 11, 2025.
